China Impressions: Cities and Sights: Xi'an

Xi'an: The place to go if you want to see the Terracotta Armee

Formerly a capitol, this plase is historically very important. Now the main attraction is the Terracotta Armee, in Chinese called Bing Ma Yong. Though many of my visiting friends were disappointed after being there. It is like a big tent and you see some of the unearthed warriors. I found it was a great place for photography.

Xi'an is also famous for the mostly intakt city wall surrounding the city with the drum and bell tower in the center. I only have a limited number of pictures because almost every time I am there the weather is foggy. Well actually that might be the pollution of the coal industry in the provinces surrounding Xi'an...

Also interesting is the muslim community with their special food. Do not miss out to go to the muslim quarter with the huge mosque. Actually, if they would not have said then I would have thought it is another temple.
