Urumqi: Capitol of the Xinjiang Province

This city is located in the northern part of Xinjiang. Xinjiang is the huge autonomous region in the west of China. The majority of the people there are muslim and many hardly speak any Mandarin.

I really like Xinjiang, especially the great Lamb dishes. But honestly, Urumqi, except for some small markets is just another big Chinese city.

But if you plan to some small place in Xinjinag you might come through Urumqi.
